During Creativity and Wellbeing week in June this year, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM) will be hosting the Live Well symposium. Live Well is a three year project (2016-19) aimed at engaging disadvantaged older people (50+), who currently have limited or no access to cultural services, with museums via voluntary and statutory support organisations and services in order to improve social engagement, cultural participation and overall personal progression.
The Live Well symposium is for museum staff, health and wellbeing workers, older people’s organisations, academics and researchers and national funders. It will introduce the findings from the project to explore how we can connect the work museums and galleries do with older people in the North East, as well as social care and national health and wellbeing strategies. There will be presentations, panel discussions, museum tours and creative activities. Find out more and book a place.
