The latest report from NHS England states “Making progress on our priorities and addressing the challenges the NHS faces over the next two years cannot be done without genuine involvement of patients and communities”. The concept of service user and carer leadership has emerged as one important way of working collaboratively with our service users and carers. Service user and carer leaders are valuable assets and have credible voices which influence health services priorities, placing a greater emphasis on the experience of care.
