Salary: £18,825 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (5 days over 7 including evenings and weekends)
Location: Based in Blyth, with outreach across Northumberland

Do you hold NVQ level 3 in Social Care or equivalent appropriate qualification? Do you have experience of supporting socially disadvantaged and vulnerable people, including adult and child protection? Are you knowledgeable in the causes and effects related to homelessness?
Are you experienced in completing housing applications and have a good understanding of Welfare benefits and working with a variety of housing providers? Do you have knowledge of legislation within social housing sector, private sector, benefits, welfare rights?

We began as a soup run supporting people who were homeless in the North East over 45 years ago, and are proud to still have our main base and central office in the North East. Since 1970, our services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

About the job
Changing Lives has significantly expanded over the past few years and now works nationally with people experiencing homelessness, addiction and a range of other problems by reaching out into communities. We also offer specialist support services for women and families, provide employment opportunities for our clients, and run several successful social enterprises.
Our homeless accommodation in Northumberland has recently expanded and we now provide support to complex males and females across the county, with our base in Blyth.
We require Support Worker who is flexible to work five days over seven late shift pattern, covering both the base in Blyth and assisting the outreach workers with all aspects of moving people we work with into dispersed properties. Cases of emergency and crisis, move on’s, thorough completion of all admin paperwork throughout their journey and setting up new accommodation as well as providing weekend cover for the base in Blyth. This role requires flexibility.
