About us

Changing Lives is a national charity that supports over 17,000 people each year. We are a well-respected, growing organisation dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable people across the UK.

We began as a soup run supporting people who were homeless in the North East over 45 years ago, and are proud to still have our main base and central office in the North East. Since 1970, our services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

We’re looking for committed and compassionate professionals who share our enthusiasm for changing lives.

About the job

Changing Lives has significantly expanded over the past few years and now works nationally with people experiencing homelessness, addiction and a range of other problems by reaching out into communities. We also offer specialist support services for women and families, provide employment opportunities for our clients, and run several successful social enterprises.

Our homeless accommodation in Northumberland has recently expanded and we now provide support to complex males and females across the county, with our base in Blyth.

We require Support Worker who is flexible to work five days over seven late shift pattern, covering both the base in Blyth and assisting the outreach workers with all aspects of moving people we work with into dispersed properties. Cases of emergency and crisis, move on’s, thorough completion of all admin paperwork throughout their journey and setting up new accommodation as well as providing weekend cover for the base in Blyth. This role requires flexibility.
